Here is a kumiage-toro shown at the Tako and Tatebanko exhibition organized by Takenowa at Koshin Gallery in Ginza earlier this year (2010). The base is supposed to be about 90cm x 45cm but I made the base 80cm x 40cm.

A samurai (Yoshimine Niita) and a prostitute arrive at the Yaguchi (Now Tama) River, hoping to cross, but being dark, stay the night at a boatman’s house. The boatman, realizing who they are, tries to kill them, but the boatman’s daughter helps the two escape.
