From Sissel in Concert ~ All Good Things I especially appreciate the violin and the heavy "thumps" at the back, and most of all the voice of Sissel, which make this my favourite adaptation of Shenandoah (more)
From a TV special in 1969, The Statler Brothers sing Shenandoah. Sadly lead singer Lew DeWitt died in 1990 of Crohn's Disease.
[lyrics]
Oh Shenandoah I long to see you away you rolling river
Oh Shenandoah I long to see you
Away I'm bound the way cross the wide Missouri
Oh Shenandoah I love your daughter away you rolling river
Oh Shenandoah I love your daughter
Away I'm bound the way cross the wide Missouri
[ guitar ]
For seven years I've been a rover away you rolling river
Seven years I've been a rover
Away I'm bound the way cross the wide Missouri
Away I'm bound the way cross the wide Missouri
