Gypsies In The Park Picnic Party 9/22 (Sasurai Events Causal Party)
Place: Yoyogi Park Shibuya, Tokyo (exact details coming soon.)
Time: Open, come when you can. (We will start around 1pm)
Details: Many years ago Gypsy groups would travel from town to town and camp nearby a town or city. There, they would perform music, dance, magic and fortune telling. The people from the city would sometimes come by to watch or even join in.
If you have ever wanted to be a Gypsy, this is your chance. If you play music, dance, sing, perform magic or read fortunes or just love being a Gypsy for one day, please come and participate. We welcome all part time Nomads and Gypsies to come enjoy a summer picnic with us.
Performance Details: There will be no schedule, no sound system, not even a floor. So if you want to join in, please be sure that you can do so in the wild outdoors with no electricy or comforts. Bring anything you need because all we will have is the park environment. We will have open jams and artists are welcome to do a short performance too.
We encourage acoustic instruments and percussion, dancing on the grass or path and please bring your own blanket or ground cover to sit and enjoy. Don't forget sunblock too. ;)
Food: Food and Drinks are Bring Your Own.
Invitation: This is open to anyone who wants to join our group of Nomads and Gypsies. (but please let us know if you are coming so we can be sure to pick a space that is large enough for everyone. We are asking everyone to RSVP by posting a comment on this event listing.
Volunteers: We need a few wonderful volunteers to help with this too. If you can meet us a little early to find a great spot for the Picnic and to help us set up our space. Also if anyone has an Ice Cooler, please let us know. We would love if someone can being one or two.
Last thing: What if if rains? At the moment we don't have a back up plan. So if you have a suggestion, please let us know.
We hope it will be a great afternoon of friends jamming, dancing and being Gypsies and Nomads together. Think of it as a chance to shake off your stress, forget your job and worries and spend time with a great group of fun and creative people.
Guests: Two of my dear friends will be here from Seattle. So please come out and say hello to them too.
