Next week's British Underground is a collaboration with Deaf Night. We'll have UK band Brigade as guest DJs, on the last night of their debut Japan tour, and three live bands.
Brigade's vocalist/guitarist Will Simpson might be better known to some as the older brother of Charlie Simpson from Fightstar (and once upon a time, Busted), but Brigade have followed their own path to build a career for themselves. Since forming in London in 2003, they've crafted a melodic rock sound that mixes hardcore guitars with pop hooks and strong songwriting.
This is their first tour of Japan, despite having a Japanese bassist (Naoti Hori), and 19 November will be their last night in town. Should be quite a party, and a chance to say hello to the band. Brigade will DJ from 12am.
Deaf Night features three Japanese bands, headed up by acoustic shoegaze outfit Deaf. With a sound reminiscent of Brit bands My Bloody Valentine and Jesus & Mary Chain, this girl-fronted band are a great match for British Underground.
And of course, our resident DJs will be there too. Don't miss it!
