SOLID TOKYO & The Social are very excited to present the third volume in the SOLID SUMMER SERIES. Situated at the stylish and elegant XEX restaurant in Daikainyama, The Social provide high quality entertainment for the Friday night crowd in Tokyo. Complete with a solid sound system, and a spacious rooftop terrace with night views of the surrounding area, the SOLID SUMMER SERIES brings the best in deep house, alongside a chilled, and intimate vibe.
For those who enjoyed volume one and two please come check out Volume 3 as we celebrate the Tokyo debut of one of the hottest woman DJs from the N.American deep house scene - DJ Misayo Hara from Therapy in Montreal. A resident of Therapy for almost ten years, Misayo helped Montreal legend Jojo Flores build the night into one of the most consistent and celebrated deep house parties in N. America. Having played alongside many of house music`s greatest DJs such as Danny Krivit, DJ Spen, Louie Vega, Osunlade, Ron Trent, and Dennis Ferrer, Misayo has also rocked clubs around the world including Cielo in NY, Karu & Y in Miami, Embassy in Manila, and Rouge in Singapore. Ready to make her Tokyo debut at the Solid Summer Series, Misayo`s deep, sexy and sublime house and garage will make the perfect vibe for a late summer night on the open terraces at XEX ...
This will also be a showcase of the legendary Therapy sound, thus the very special edition of Therapy NIght (brought to you by Solid Tokyo)
Another late and welcome edition to the night will be UK underground house talent, Purple People !
Purple People is one of the hidden secrets of the UK's South Coast underground House scene. His sets and productions are a blended fusion of Jazz, Funk, Techno, Disco and Electronica -- all underpinned with a solid House soul.
His own party, Mezzé, has featured some of the leading players from the Fabric nightclub and UK house scene. Terry Francis, Nathan Coles and Nils Hess to name a few, whilst his appearances in Europe have seen him spin from Austria to Ibiza. In 2004, the Mezzé offshoot party (Invaders) took place on a massive man-made island, sitting a mile offshore from Portsmouth Harbour. Virtually unaltered since it's building in 1870, the Spitbank Fort is one of the most unusual military buildings ever constructed and one of the most unique venues to be found in the UK and was for one night home to Craig Richards and a ship full of party-people.
Purple People holds residence for the Science events and has been recently featured on remix duties under his 'Kuse-Mono' moniker, for Phonika's own Alex Einz on Einz's release 'Breakfast in Otsuka' on the KSR label. Studying studio recording and production at the UK's Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford throughout 2010, studio productions for the Hall of Mirrors group are already in the can and upcoming production projects with Saya Concept are planned for later on in 2010.
Closing it out, are myself and Solid Tokyo residents, Nebu Soku whose productions have recently been favorites of DJs such Mark Farina and Derrick Carter ;-)
Also, the night will mark the special birthday celebration for our good friend Sapna Patel - the brains and beauty behind The Social !!!
It will be a quite a night, so get ready to dress up a bit, chill with a few glasses of sparkling, and get down with some bumpin` house music all night long ...
