KAORI a.k.a LSD Kaori Ichikawa a.k.a. Lady Something Different
Kaori started to DJ in 1992, her friend and art creator based in London Simon Taylor from Tomato,named her "DJ Lady Something Different" when she first played abroad in Sydney, Australia.
Soon after Kaori proved to be "Something Different" with her passion to electronic music, especially House music from Chicago and West Coast. Back in Tokyo she introduced DJs like KASKADE, Johnny Fiasco, DJ DIZZY to Tokyo club scene through her first resident party. These experience gave her the ability to create a style of her own.
Also she's been fortunate enough to share the decks with with many talented DJs who resides in Tokyo and such luminaries from all over the world who also happen to be her early inspirations, such as DJ Gregory,Nicholas Matar,Anthony Nicholson, DJ Heather, Mark Grant, Jimpster, just to name a few.
Now her base in Tokyo is Club La Fabrique in Shibuya where she owns a bi-monthly party called "50/50 Fifty Fifty". Also she hosts once a month radio show program at Shibuya FM 78.4mhz every 2nd monday. In Sept 2007, Kaori joined the "GIRLY DJ CONTEST 2007" held at Brussels, Belgium at Club FUSE and won 3rd place, competing among European female DJs.
