ミュージアムオープニングについて：
オープニングでは、ニューヨークへの留学を希望する来館者がスカイプを利用して、アーティストに自由に話しかけることができます（無料留学カウンセリング）。作品について質問するもよし、語学留学について相談するもよし、ポートフォリオレビューを依頼するもよし、参加者のアイデア次第で可能性の広がるパフォーマンスです。自作品を見てもらいたいと考える方は、マック仕様に処理されたデジタル写真を持参してください。当日会場では、インターネット接続可能なマックコンピューターが使用できます。
BBQ パーティ＠SHMCA:
6月23日の土曜夕方6:00-8:00pm
ミュージアムのプチガーデンでコミュニティバーベキューを開催します（雨天の場合はガレージエリアへ移動になります）。アルコールドリンクを希望される方はご持参ください。フードとソフトドリンクはニューヨークのA. Sortie, Inc.から無料提供されます。ぜひ、お誘い合わせの上でご参加ください。

JR姫路駅からシティバスの白鳥台行き最終ストップになります。駅からの所要時間は30分程度。
展示アーティストについて：
加藤希（かとう・のぞみ）は神戸とハワイで育ち、パリ、ローマ、ニューヨークへの遊学を経て、コロンビア大学バーナードカレッジでの奨学生レジデンシーを、ニューヨーク市立大学在学中にICP研究生として取得しました。その後、コーネル大学を絵画専攻で卒業。美術修士号は世界的に有名なシカゴ美術館附属大学大学院の写真学部で取得。ビジュアルアーティストとしては、イサカ市のジョンソンアートミュージアム、バーモントスタジオセンター、シカゴ美術館サリバンセンター、ニューヨークのブリッジアートフェア、シカゴのレベルスリーギャラリー、エバンストンアートセンター、チェルシーのニューセンチュリーアーティストやクラベッツ＆ウェービー等でこれまで作品展示をしてきました。加藤は現在、ニューヨーク市立大学ラガーディア校の教員として、現地学生にビジュアルアートを教えています。今年の秋からは、彼女の新しく作ったアジアアートコースがニューヨーク市立大学で開講されます。

*Nozomi offers free consulting sessions for study abroad via Skype at the opening. Museum visitors interested in studying in NYC is welcome to talk to her online in Japanese or English. Please bring digital photos of your artwork if you would like to have a serious portfolio review with the artist. There will be a Mac computer with the internet on site.

Direction:
The last stop at the city bus to Hakuchou-dai from the JR Himeji station (30 minutes). The museum is located near the Himeji Castle, the UNESCO World Heritage site and the National Treasure.
More Information about the Artist:
Nozomi Kato grew up in Kobe and Hawaii, went to school in Paris, Rome, and New York City, and studied fine art at the City University of New York where she was awarded an honor residency at Barnard College/Columbia University as an ICP Scholar. Later, Nozomi graduated from Cornell University with a BFA in Painting. Her MFA came from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the top museum schools in the country and the world. As a visual artist, she has exhibited her work at Johnson Museum of Art in Ithaca, Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Sullivan Center at the Art Institute of Chicago, Bridge Art Fair New York, LVL3 in Chicago, the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, and New Century Artist and Kravets|Wehby in Chelsea, among others. Nozomi is currently a Professor of Art in the Visual Arts Program at LaGuardia Community College, the City University of New York in Long Island City. Her new course HUA191: the Art of Eastern Asia exploring the Art of India, China, and Japan will be offered in the Fall 2012 semester at LaGuardia.
