先週の土曜日から、畑仕事のボランティアプロジェクトが始まりました。



SAGのメンバーの一人が考えたプロジェクトで、保育園からの子供たちや保護されている女性などと一緒に畑仕事をしながら、生物学や健康な食、環境の大切さを学んでもらおうというもの。


場所はハイドパーク内の一角にある、畑内(40番)で行われるので、土曜だけでも土いじりをしてリフレッシュしたい人には最適。ハイドパーク自体は、芝生しか生えておらず殺風景ですが、畑の中は緑が多くてまるで別世界です。リーズ中心街には緑も少なく、ちょっと勉強に疲れたという人にも畑でのリフレッシュをお勧めします

待ち合わせ場所：10amにパーキンソンステップ、その後畑へ。
時間：服装：畑仕事に適している、暖かい洋服。靴も汚れてもいいものを。
持参：ランチ・飲み物(水筒)等

Some info about the project:
A new project creating a garden with and for children to teach
them about biology, healthy eating, and the environment

Some project activities:

building animal boxes, cold frames, collecting sticks and building frames and trellaces, digging holes and makign mini-ponds, picking and taking home fruit & veg and a recipee, planting, watering, making posters signs identifying the plants, making films of themselves doing news type reports and what they have acheived that day and what they have learnt, carving pumpkins, composting, building habitat piles, collecting leaves for mulching, identifying animals, making plastic bottles into bees butterflies, cows and angels and things then putting them on the canes, making those things with cress in egg shells with faces on, taking home potted plants or just coming and spending some time in the allotment.
