1992年早稲田大学大学院理工学研究科修士課程修了。?日立製作所本社、?日立総合計画研究所勤務等を経て、2004年米国カリフォルニア州アルタベイツサミット・メディカルセンター・チャプレン、CPEプログラム(プロチャプレン育成プログラム)修了。2007年米国ハーバード大学大学院修士課程修了。現在は東札幌病院チャプレン、北海道医療大学非常勤講師。MASCC(Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer) Psychosocial Study Group Co-chair。

Barry Kerzin is a Tibetan Buddhist monk, practitioner, teacher, and medical doctor. BARRY completed his B.A. at the University of California at Berkeley majoring in philosophy. He received his medical training at the University of Southern California. Later, Barry became an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington. He was ordained as a Bikkshu by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Bodh Gaya. Illness and death were powerful influences early in his life. His own childhood life-threatening illness led him to become a doctor. The death of his mother and his wife early in life led him to become a monk. Dharamsala has been home for the last 20 years. Initially, he taught research methodology and conducted research into the efficacy of Tibetan medicine for treating high blood pressure. For the last several years he has been privileged to participate in neuroscience meditation research with Richard Davidson and Antoine Lutz at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and with Jonathan Cohen and Brent Field at Princeton University.
Anybody can participate. The programs are designed especially for caregivers,such as doctors, nurses, counselors, body-workers, and "other health/wholistic health practitioners.
