｟ダライラマ法王の御前でダミエン一曲弾き語り｠
２００８年１１月４日、ダライラマ法王が北九州市をご訪問されます。私は御前で歓迎と慰労のための演奏を承りました。昨年他界した父が設計した溶鉱炉の見える故郷で、８８歳になる母との二年ぶりの再会、２００５年、蓮華院誕生寺奥之院での演奏以来、私にとって記念すべき名誉ある日となるでしょう。チベット古典曲『チョラ・タシ』を弾じます。北九州メディアドーム。８０００人の聴衆。この度は独奏です。今年の３月１０日以来とくにお疲れになられている法王を少しでもお慰めできればよいと願っています。私が見つめていた木星への祈りが、今こうしてチベットの真上に輝く黄金の星座への道へ私を導いてくれたのかもしれません。

｟In front of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, To Play One Song on the Damnyen｠
On November 4th, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be visiting Kitakyushi City. I have received an invitation to perform in the welcoming ceremony for His Holiness. Awaiting me, I have much to look forward to upon my return to my hometown. There is the iron furnace designed by my father, who passed away last year, on display. There is also my 88-year-old mother, whom I have not seen in two years. In 2005, I had the pleasure of performing at Rengeintanjyo Temple, Okunoin. Looking forward now, it will undoubtedly be a most memorable and honorable day for return to Japan and perform for His Holiness. I will play a classical Tibetan piece: Jolak Tashi. At Kitakyushu Media Dome. In front of an audience composing of 8,000 people. A solo performance. Since March 10 of this year, His Holiness, has been particularly engaged with the on tide of campaigns and protests brought by the increased awareness of Tibet, especially in regards to the recent Summer Olympics. I wish to offer my support for Him. In these recent months, I have been praying, in observation of the momentarily visible planet Jupiter. In my mind, this will lead me on a path of hope and peace towards the golden constellation above Tibet.
Classical Tibetan music preserves Tibet.

Toshi Kuga came to his home town, Kitakyushu city all the way from New York to vote for Peace in the world while people in America were voting for the next president. His Holiness The Dalai Lama made his speech, "Mind of Compassion, leading to our Happiness" to an audience composing of as many as 6600 people at Kitakyushu Media Dome. The program was successfully organized. Kuga promoted selected background Tibetan music for the audience for the entire two and a half hours intermission, taking care to include rare old Tibetan traditional music played by Anan and Chusi Ishi Doma to the modern.
In the beginning, His Holiness and many Japanese monks were chanting together, and afterwards, the monks drew from the stage. Pasang Dolma's "Om Mani Peme Fun," which was recorded in Nagano at the live concert with Toshi Kuga two years ago, echoed in the dome as a voice not unlike that of a heavenly maiden. Kuga was waiting fully dressed in Traditional Tibetan costume with red tapshu beside the stage. Not for long after, Lhapa la, representative of the Dalai Lama in Japan, asked him, "Toshi Kuga san, please make your speech onstage. Take your time." He stepped up to the stage and at first prayed three times for His Holiness and started to describe his brief dream the day before of His Holiness' birthday in the year of 9/11. In his dream, Kuga was sitting on the ground and playing "Jolak Tashi" on the Damnyen, and the Dalai Lama was listening and smiling from the top of wooden staircase at the entrance of a monastery. As he played the first part of the Tuk Shey, Kuga started sweating, because he felt he needed more practice. Thereafter, he woke up from his dream. Now, his dream came true. His Holiness was sitting nearby Kuga, listening happily while beating time with his hands. This time, Kuga could sing and play damnyen very well, and for the last 20 seconds, was even able to dance the shaputo. For Kuga, Jolak Tashi means the Tibetan people and the shapto means that Tibet is moving towards a brighter future. At the end of the performance, the Dalai Lama offered Kuga holly khata, and told him, "Tojiche na". Kuga then replied, "Please have a long life, your Holiness."
Even after Kuga left the stage, the Dalai Lama mentioned to the audience that it was a wonderful performance and that Tashi Kunga had played for him previously another time, as well.

獅子さん、
コメントありがとうございます。あなたのニックネイム『獅子』（しし）にはチベットとの深い繋がりがありますね。獅子座とは仏の座を意味し、またチベット国旗にある対の雪獅子はシンギと呼ばれ、架空の神話的な動物ですが、同時にチベット人たちが至高の宝石と呼んでいる『ノルブ』を守っています。ダライラマ法王はときにイシノルブと呼ばれていますが、その名もこの言葉を含んでいるのです。テーチュンの曲『シベカンセン／平和の雪獅子』はそのままダライラマ法王御自身を指しています。
確かあなたは油絵を制作されているのですよね、いつか私に作品を見せてくださいますか。応援しています。

あぁ・・・改名した名前がそんな高貴な名前だったなんて・・・夢の中でふと出てきた大きな獅子からつけたのですがやはり繋がりがあったようですね
私の夢の中には頻繁に鮮明な情景や人物、植物や言葉が出てそのまま制作者として作品に繋げて行く事が多いのですが今までは単純な頭ゆえその時の興奮やら勢いなどで深く意味までは掘り下げて考えていませんでした。
ある日数々出て来た夢の意味が紐解けるから〜なんてのん気に考える性格なんで参ります
ダライラマ法王は一度だけ夢の中に現れて頂きましたが、その時の夢の中でみた法王が私の目の前で指差した事になにか関係があるのでしょうね（まだ意味は全くわかりませんけど）
私は制作者と言っても油絵ではなく（学生の頃に少しかじった程度ですあせあせ）ジュエリーの制作者ではありますが、機会があれば是非作品をじかにお見せ出来ればと思います
タシさんが奏でる音色もこの耳で聴きたいです
