As President of the Japan Chapter of the UW Alumni Association, I want to share some very good news, and ask for your immediate cooperation.

Dr Michael K. Young, President of the University of Washington (together with his wife and a small UW delegation), will be in Japan April 5-9, and I am very pleased to announce a special Reception in his honor.

On Monday evening, April 8, from 6:30 to 8:30pm, we have the rare opportunity to be hosted in the Official Residence by U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Hon John V. Roos, to meet and welcome President and Mrs. Young.

If you would like to welcome UW President Young, and meet with U.S. Ambassador Roos, please act immediately to register for the April 8 Reception.

I apologize for this VERY short notice and urgent request – we have worked closely with the UW on the President’s visit, and with the Embassy’s needs for everyone’s Security Clearance to attend the Reception at the Residence, and now must act immediately to ensure everyone can attend.

We need to you register right away, as the Embassy needs our registered guest list by March 6, next Wednesday!

Fee: 7,000 Yen – by wire transfer in advance

Payment of 7,000 Yen must be made by Wednesday, March 6, to the bank account listed below.

Following Registration and payment, you will be receiving an official invitation from the U.S. Embassy, requiring your timely RSVP. When you have sent in your RSVP, you will receive an official Invitation Card from the Embassy. Please bring this Invitation Card to the Ambassador’s Residence – with photo ID – on April 8, as the Invitation Card and photo ID are required for admission.

We want to ensure a warm Husky welcome to President Young, and a sincere thanks to Ambassador and Mrs. Roos for opening their Residence for our Alumni gathering to welcome President and Mrs. Young.
