偶然聴いた“THE BEATLES”を聞き音楽に目覚める。16歳で初めてギターに触れて以降、高校時代はHM/HR、大学時代はFUSION〜JAZZに傾倒。複数のバンドを掛け持ちしつつ、オリジナル楽曲、トラック制作も並行して行うようになる。1999年“岡野香織”とのユニット“transluv”結成。2000年には“GROOVE”誌上でその活動を取り上げられ、インタビュー及びバインドされたCDが反響を呼び、自主制作版のメール・オーダーを開始。またアコースティック・スタイルのマンスリー・ライヴも開始し“JAZZTRONIK”等との共演を果たす。2004年、8曲入りのデビュー・アルバム “undercover”をリリース。各方面より高い評価を得つつも、翌年、活動停止。同時に自身のソロプロジェクト“eighteen degrees.”として活動開始する。以降、野宮真貴、Olivia Ong、Ryohei、moumoon、Cover Lover Project等へのプロデュース、プログラミング、アレンジ、楽曲提供、ギター等で参加。多岐に渡る活躍を見せている。そんな中、来年、2008年2月 ODE MUSICより、待望のアルバム・リリースが決定！現在シーンからの熱い注目を集めている。

By coincidence, he listened the Beatles and became interested in music.
When he was 16 years old, for the first time, picked up a guitar and
from then on, he became immersed in Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock while in high school and Fusion~Jazz while in University.
While a member of numerous bands, at the same time, started producing
his own original music and produced tracks. In 1999, he founded a unit
called transluv with Kaori Okano. In 2000, their activities was covered
by Groove magazine. Their interview in this magazine along with the
supplement CD which included their music was widely praised and they
started releasing their own material through mail order.
Also, they started monthly acoustic style live events and madee joint
appearances with Jazztronik amongst others. In 2004, they released an 8 track mini-album called undercover. In many fields, they were highly
acclaimed but they stopped their activities the following year. At the
same time, they started their respective solo activities.
After that, Ken Arai produced, programmed, arranged, given tracks to
numerous artists such as Maki Nomiya, Olivia Ong, Ryohei, Moumoon, Cover Lover Project, etc. And also as a guitarist, he has been active
extensively, performing in numerous artist's works as well as playing
live. And in 2008, as eighteen degrees, he is finally finished producing
his debut album and set to release it.
