I am deeply concerned about the Government of Burma's repressive response to the peaceful and orderly marches which protested the recent hike in fuel prices by as much as five times. The official decision will seriously affect the Burmese livelihood, which is already difficult.
Another concern is the fate of the now detained opposition figures, including Min Ko Naing and Ko Ko Gyi. The international community and in particular ASEAN urge that the Burmese government respect fundamental human and political rights.
I demand that the Government of Burma immediately release all the detainees and change your human right practices.
