Thanks to everyone who came along to our December event! It was quite a night, with DJ sets by members of The Pipettes and We Start Fires, a live solo set from Pipettes guitarist Monster Bobby, and a guestlist including Klaxons, Lucky Soul, The Enemy, Los Campasinos, Bonnie Pink, Hiromix and British music journalist Johnny Cigarettes, all dancing cheek to cheek at Ruby Room. Definitely our best party of 2007!
This month, Tokyo-based band Sloppy Joe treat British Underground to their take on the '80s neo-acoustic sound. The boys are influenced by Orange Juice, The Monochrome Set, The Pale Fountains, Dislocation Dance and The Smiths. Even if you're not familiar with Sloppy Joe, their songs will move you - and you'd be forgiven for being surprised that they're a Japanese band, what with their defiantly British sound.
As always, our regular DJs will spin brand new British music and classics too. We hope to see you there!
