After his studies at the Conservatoire populaire of Geneva and stay of a few months at the Drummers Collective of New York, Nicolas Field settles down in the Netherlands in 1996 where he studies drums & percussion at the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam (1996 - 2002) and Sonology to the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (1997 - 2002). During this period, he takes part in a large variety of projects ranging from contemporary music to jazz as well as from improvised to electronic music. He begins to travel around Europe as a drummer with various music groups. His taste for electronics leads him to gradually work on drum kit solos including movement sensors and live electronics. In the course of collaborations and tours which lead him to America, Japan, Korea and Australia, Nicolas Field collaborates with artists of fame such as Otomo Yoshihide (guitar), Morten J. Olsen (drums), Anders Hana (guitar), Keiji Haino (guitar / voice), Seijiro Murayama (drum kit), Akira Sakata (saxophone), Anthony Pateras (piano), John Hegre (guitar), Tetuzi Akiyama (guitar), Jeff Carey (electronics), Peeesseye or Rova Saxophone 4tet. ■Jasper Stadhouders (Tilburg, the Netherlands, 1989) guitarist and bassist based in Amsterdam. He’s performed music on stage since the age of 8. He is an active member of the international improvised music circuit. He is a co-founder of the bands Cactus Truck (with John Dikeman and Onno Govaert), Stadhouders/Govaert/De Joode Trio and two duos with percussionists Dag Erik Knedal Andersen and Nicolas Field. He is also part of such diverse bands as Spinifex and Lily’s Déjà Vu, next to playing countless of ad hoc improv shows. Jasper also occasionally works in the fields of dance, theatre and contemporary composed music. He has played with Han Bennink, Ab Baars, Paal Nilssen-Love, Marshall Allen, Wolter Wierbos, Noel Redding, Ken Vandermark, Jim Black, Andrew D’Angelo, Terrie Ex, Andy Moor, Peter Evans, Frank Rosaly, Dave Rempis, Roy Campbell, Michael Moore, Jeb Bishop, Peter Jacquemyn, Wally Shoup, Ingrid Laubrock, Mars Williams, Michael Vatcher, Alan Wilkinson and many more. ■中川裕貴 yuki nakagawa 86年生まれ。京都市在住の作曲家・チェロ演奏家。バンド「N.O.N」、「swimm」に参加。劇団「烏丸ストロークロック」の音楽担当。現代にあるべき/あってもよいはずの“現代音楽”や“即興演奏”を紹介するコンサートシリーズ”o/t/c”を主宰。近年は演奏活動とは別に、即興演奏やフィールドレコーディングを中心としたワークショップの講師も務めている。京都市立芸術大学大学院音楽研究科修了(専門は音響心理学と聴覚) - Born in 1986.
