COMPUTER VS Computer VS (Polo and Vincent Laubeuf) is a computer duo working around the improvisation of "sound objects" on Max / MSP patches. Both musicians use as a basis of their instrument the patch "granular 2.5" (programmed by Nobuyasu Sakonda), but in very different ways, both in the setup that sound materials injected to both the dialogue that the complementarity of their games. Their music also has very different origins (synthetic body of recorded sound, soundscapes ...), offering a rich exploration of sound. The round of Computer VS in Japan was made possible thanks to the support of the Spedidam.
POLO Born in 1976, laptop player specialist in live electronic performances and real-time computer processing. He works as a solo musician in electroacoutic fields while regularily involved in dance creations and collaborative audio projects. Its purpose is to sculpt various sound objects in a personal way, mixing radiophonic technics (such as reports and dramatic plays) with acousmatic composition. http://polosound.free.fr.
VINCENT LAUBEUF He studied composition with Denis Dufour at conservatoire de Lyon. His meetings with Pascal Dusapin, Brian Ferneyhough or more recently with Gérard Pesson allowed him to complete his formation and to renew his manner of writing. He also improvises in the electroacoustic fields with Bolitz and Motus. For this, he developed his own instrument through laptop and the Max/MSP program. Vincent Laubeuf is today invited in the studios of Imeb, the GRM, Grame or la Muse en circuit and composes music for ensembles such as Syntax, In Extremis, or l’Ensemble orchestral contemporain. His pieces are played in France and abroad (Palais de Tokyo, Grand Palais, festivals Synthèse, Extension, cycle Multiphonie du GRM, CCMC in Tokyo, Archipel in Geneva…) Elecktrophonie dedicted him a portrait-concert in 2008 and in 2010, he is the prize-winner of the international competition Luc Ferrari organised by la Muse en circuit (F). Creator of acousmatic and instrumental pieces, designer of installations and improviser, since 2006 he is the curator of Motus and festival Futura.
