Performers
Special Guest: Tamaki One of Tokyo's most prominent Belly Dancers and instructors in Tokyo. Her performances are simply amazing. We are very happy to welcome her for a special appearance.
Mandala: An amazing world music group based in Western Japan. They visit Tokyo only a few rare times a year and we are happy to welcome them to Amane. Mandala blend traditional instruments from India, Africa and Asia with contemporary world beat for a sound that is unique and captivating.
Trance Yoshino: Yoshino-san is one of the most talented fretted instrument players I've ever met. Saz, bouzouki and sitar are just some of his instruments and his sound is always original and wonderful. Every performance is very unique so come and check out this wonderful artist. If you've seen saz played in the indie film "Crossing the Bridge" you will love the sounds of Istanbul that Trance Yoshino will bring to this event.
TaTaTei: India is a country rich with art, dance and music. TaTaTei bring a very true and wonderful to watch performance of North Indian Kathak dance. Kathak is a blend of gestures with strong rythmic foot work. The beat will have you wanting to join their dance. And the costumes and gestures will take you to another time and place.
RainInEden: RainInEden merge traditional instruments and melodies from the Silk Road into contemporary electronic music. This time the band will take you on a journey along the Silk Road with live performance of instruments from Persia, Central Asia, China and Japan. Sights and sounds that you may never have experienced are waiting in RainInEden's performance.
To help you get into the mood for a night of travels to ancient places, we have Veri and Yoko who can help you feel a part of the Silk Road. Veri does wonderful Henna art tattoos that are traditional for many cultures along the Silk Routes. Yoko does amazing face and body painting to add the colors and make up of people along the Silk Road.
Come join us, forget about Tokyo, neon lights, traffic and crowded trains. Travel with us on the Silk Road and experience the sights and sounds of distant times and places.
Hope to see you there.
