The Eigo Virus

Let's think about viruses. They spread from person to person. To get a virus you have to come into contact with someone who is infected (or something they have come into contact with). That's difficult at the beginning of an outbreak, but becomes easier as a virus spreads.

Education is the transmission of ideas, knowledge, and skills from person to person, often across generations.

The knowledge and the ideas found in books and in other data bases--like viruses--exist in suspended animation until they can find a human host. They only come alive when they have "infected" a human brain. Inside the brain they can mutate and then be transmitted to other human brains, through a process called communication.

Some ideas have spread all over the world: Western music, guitars, and Rubik's Cube. Languages have, too. Latin, French, and more recently English have gone viral, globally.

The power of chain reactions (exponential increase) increase learning. Don't just be a student ... be a teacher. (Rabbits teach turtles.)
