As another year comes to an end, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the ongoing support you have shown us over the last 12 months.
2015 has been a challenging year for refugees around the world and for our team here at UNHCR. Together we have faced major conflicts in Syria, Iraq and central Africa that have displaced more families than ever before. A million people have risked their lives, crossing the sea to Europe to seek refuge from war and violence, and today in the world one in every 122 people has been forced to flee their home.
Thanks to your support, UNHCR has continued to assist, shelter and protect millions of refugees across the globe this year. Wherever refugees were in need, we were there, during every emergency, giving help and hope to vulnerable families.
