I pray that my eye may be single.
私の 心の目が 真理の一点に向かいます様に。

I pray that my life may be lived in the light of the best that I know.

“What draws newcomers to AA and gives them hope?
“AAに参加する 新しいメンバー達に 希望 を与えるモノは 何だろうか?

They hear the stories of men and women whose experiences tally with their own.
彼等は 自分自身の経験と 全く一致する 男女の話を聞く。

The expressions on the faces of the women, that undefinable something in the eyes of the men, the stimulating atmosphere of the AA clubroom, conspire to let them know that there is haven at last.
其処に参加する 女性の表情・男の人達の目の中 に漂う 名状し難い何か!、AAのミーティング場の 此の心地良い刺激は、ついに探していた場所に 辿り着いた!と 感じさせる。

The very practical approach to their problems, the absence of intolerance of any kind, the informality, the genuine democracy, the uncanny understanding that these people in AA have is irresistible.”
彼らが 抱えている問題に対して、とても現実的で 効果的なアプローチ・どの様な不寛容も 存在しない雰囲気・形式に囚われ無いヤリ方・本物の民主主義・AAの中で互いに示す 不思議な程の理解は、拒否するには あまりにも魅力的である。”

Have I found a real haven in AA?

Meditation for the Day
今日の黙想

“If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
「貴方の目が 真理 の一点に定まるなら、貴方の全存在は 光に満ちるであろう。」

The eye of the soul is the will.
心の目は 其の人の思い を表す。

If your will is to do the will of God, to serve Him with your life, to serve Him by helping others, then truly shall your whole body be full of light.
もし 私の思いが、神の御旨 に従う事であり、私の人生を 神に仕えるモノとしよう!と云う事であり、他の人々を 助ける事によって 神に仕えよう!と云う事であるなら、私の全存在は 光に満ちるのだ。

The important thing is to strive to attune your will to the will of God, a single eye to God's purpose, desiring nothing less than that His purposes be fulfilled.
此の生き方 のポイントは、自分の思いを 神の御旨に 調和させる事に 励む事である。神の目的が 成就されるよう、其れ以外の 何モノをも 求めず、神の御旨に 心の目を 集中する事である。

Try to seek in all things the advance of His kingdom, seek the spiritual values of honesty and purity, unselfishness and love, and earnestly desire spiritual growth.
全ての事柄の中に、神の御旨に近づく 姿勢を 探し求めよう。正直・清純・非自己中心・愛 の中にスピリチュアル(霊的)な 価値を 探し求めよう。霊的成長を 真摯に求めよう。

Then your life will emerge from the darkness of futility into the light of victory.
此の様な姿勢に 生きる事によって、私の生命は 虚無の暗闇から、勝利の喜び の光の中へと 移り変わるであろう。
