Cascodes in power amplifiers
I tested (by simulations) a few circuits (audio power amplifiers) using cascode stages and I never saw any benefits brought. On the contrary. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right direction.
Can anyone advocate the benefit of cascode stages in audio power amplifiers?

The benefits of a cascode connection are:
1) Higher output impedance, which improves resistance to power supply voltage fluctuations (PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio)).
2) Since the collector voltage is fixed, transistor "nonlinearity" is less likely to occur.
Before applying a large amount of overall negative feedback, the bare characteristics of the amplifier circuit must be good.
The first stage is a circuit for detecting errors, not a circuit for processing distortion.
