Sixpack's history
Sixpack could never sit still.

From our teenage years spent bombing trains, we learned how to think on our feet and do things fast. We still have a certain taste for speed. The records we used to listen and study taught us that art could as well be deployed in the street. That we could get heard and that we would, by any means necessary.

But we wanted more. The yards faded in the background and we found another mass medium: the t-shirt. Elegant, cheap, highly noticeable, ready to morph in anything you want. A mobile canvas, modern and contagious, spreading our vision everywhere. Our very own ciphers, crystal-clear for some while cryptic for others but powerful and intriguing for all. Our work had changed and some new words came forth to describe that new thing we were doing: graphic design, post-graffiti. Sixpack was born. We liked walls, of course, so why not get some of ours and open up a shop? Now we had a place, in Avignon, solid and bullet-proof.

But we want more. Now, Sixpack France morphs into something else; from the yards to the shop, from the shop to the brand. To do more and faster, we will be lighter, more fluid and flexible. To grow, we open up to other media and other structures.

The new Sixpack is a label, i.e. a hub for the distribution of art, music and events: we will distribute other brands, set up exhibitions and parties, put out limited-edition tees, records and mixtapes. And collaboration is still the name of the game. We started off local but our networks grew quickly: Paris, UK, US.

But some things just don’t change. We still do things our way, like we used to back in the illegal day. Music, from hip hop to just about everything else is still one of our main concerns: we have some stuff in the pipeline with the Institubes label. And one thing is never gonna change: pretty soon we, will, want, more.

This is just the beginning. We’ll sleep when we’ll be dead.

sixpackは決して静かに座っていられない。

しかし、私たちはそれだけでは満足しなかった。ストリートの作品がバックグラウンドで次第に明るみに出てきて、私たちはもう一つのマスな媒体を見つけた：Tシャツだ。エレガントで、安く、非常に目に付きやすく、好きなように変化させられる。私たちのヴィジョンをあらゆる場所に広げてくれる、現代的で伝染性の動き回るキャンバスだ。私たち自身の暗号は、明晰に感じる人もいれば、謎めいていて意味不明に感じる人もいるが、全ての人にとって力強く魅力あるものだ。私たちの作品は変化した。私たちが行っていた新しい動きを言い表すために、「グラフィック・デザイン」や「ポスト・グラフィティ」といった言葉が前に出てきた。sixpackは生まれた。もちろん私たちは壁が好きだったから、自分たちの壁を持ち店を開かない手はないと感じた。今私たちはアヴィニョンに店を構えている。堅固で防弾の場所を。

それでもまだ私たちはもっと上を目指す。sixpack franceは他のものに生まれ変わる、庭から店へ、店からブランドへ。より多く、そしてより早く行動するため、私たちはより軽く、より流動的で柔軟になるだろう。成長のために、私たちは他の媒体や組織にオープンでいる。

新たなsixpackはアート、音楽、イベントを送り出す中枢になるレーベルである。私たちは他のブランドを宣伝し、エキシビションやパーティーを企画し、限定版のTシャツやレコード、ミックステープを世に送り出す。そしてコラボレーションも肝心なことである。私たちはローカルにスタートしたが、パリ、UK、US、とネットワークは瞬く間に膨らんだ。

しかし変わらないものもある。法を犯していた昔と同じように、今でも私たちは自分たちのやり方で動いている。ヒップホップから他のあらゆるものまで含め、音楽は私たちの主要な関心事の一つである：institubesレーベルとのパイプラインを使っていくつかの商品を出している。そして一つ決して変わらないこと：もうすぐ私たちは、きっと、もっと、求める。

これはただの始まりに過ぎない。私たちは死ぬまで眠らない。
