2005年末、英国ブラッドフォードにてKasabian、Keane、The Delaysらのサポートやセッション・ギタリストとして数々のFESに参加してきたダニー（Vo>）、ジョノ（Gt&Vo）兄弟のバンドThe Kicksに、ダニーの旧友トム（Ba）、元サッカー少女だったニキ（Dr）が参加し、結成されたWhite Light Parade。学校の先生に才能を見出され、学生ながらドラムを教えるまでになったニキの天才的なまでのリズムに、The Clash、Sex Pistols、The Jamらの初期パンク、Oasis、Manic Street Preachers、Green Day から影響を受けたキャッチーなメロディーを初期衝動に乗せたバンド・サウンドは2007年5月にリリースされたデビューEPが発売1週間で完売するなど一気にシーンの注目株へ。2008年にリリースされたシングル『Wait for The Weekend』が世界中で大ヒットを記録しているTVゲーム“Grand Theft Auto ?”に挿入歌として抜擢されると、イギリスの音楽シーンに多大な影響を与え続けているXFMでパワー・プレイ、シングル・インディー・チャート17位、同年６月には『Turning All The Lights Down』がBBCでもパワープレイされ、同チャートで最高６位を記録するなど、NMEを含む各雑誌やラジオ局で大絶賛を浴びることとなった。人気を確実なものとしたバンドは、Kasabian、The Twang、The Subways、Ash、The Jam、The View、The Enemyらとのイギリス・ツアーで、バンドとしての結束力を高め、イギリスのデヴォンにあるHolne Bridge Studiosにて、ピート・マイルス（The King Blues、Sonic Boom Six、Failsafe）をプロデュースに迎え本作をレコーディング。『愛、憎悪、戦争、平和、日常生活といった周りにある全てのものについて、俺たちはリアルなんだ』ダニーは言う。虚像ばかりのロック、パンク・シーンの中で、リアルを取り戻すのは彼らかも知れない。

White Light Parade (WLP*) are a Post-Punk/Alternative Rock band from Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The band consists of Danny Yates (Lead Vocals/Lead Guitar), Jono Yates (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Nici Todd (Drums) and Tom Emmett (Bass).
They are signed to independent record label, Split Records.
The band has played support acts to bands such as: The Enemy, The View & Kasabian.
They were also on the bill for Bingley Music Live alongside members from The Jam and The Bluetones, playing to thousands of people.
WLP* released their Limited Edition debut single 'Wait For The Weekend' in February 2008, it charted at a very respectable #17 on the Official UK Indie Chart.
The follow up single 'Turning All The Lights Down', released in May 2008, broke into the top 10 of the Official UK Indie Chart placing at #6 and spent 3 weeks in the top 40.
'Riot In The City', the b-side to their debut single, is featured on multi-million selling Rockstar Games video game, Grand Theft Auto VI.
The band's debut album 'House Of Commons' was released on 25th May 2009, produced by Pete Miles (The King Blues), to mainly positive critics.
The band cite The Sex Pistols, The Who, The Jam, The Clash, The Rolling Stones and Oasis as their main influences.

When the world lets you down, when your government doesn’t speak on your behalf, when your town is all dead ends and dying dreams, there’s always music. That’s the message of ‘House Of Commons’, the debut album from White Light Parade. Formed a few years back in Bradford, West Yorkshire, White Light Parade aka singer/guitarist Danny Yates, his brother and co-songwriter Jono on vocals and second guitar, bassist Tom Emmett, and drummer Nici Todd. Over the last year they've had two songs in the official top 10 Uk Indie charts and their track Riot In The city is being used as a soundtrack on the recently released Grand Theft Auto 4.
WLP* are all about belief… the sort of belief that’s fostered by setbacks and knock backs, the sort of belief you build because, well, what’s the alternative? The album title is a political one, but don’t mistake this as a respectful tip of the hat to our elected leaders...
