A group of 5-10 people will meet once or twice a month to discuss classic novels, short stories and plays. We will read slowly but members should to do their best to keep up. The group leader, an english native speaker, will choose the texts and make a schedule, give explanations on the literary and historical movements that relate to our readings. Also, she will present ideas from academic criticism to guide our discussions. This is not an English Conversation Club! This is a club for people who love literature, not practicing English conversation.

There is only one requirement: you must be interested in literature. All ages, both genders, any background and any level of English is okay. Speaking Japanese is okay.

A strong interest in literature is more important than a strong English ability!

月に1回か2回、 5-10人のグループで集まり、古典的な小説や短い物語、戯曲などについての議論をします。ゆっくり、少しずつ読みますが、ついていけるようにがんばってください。グループリーダーがテキストを選んで予定を組みます。そして、取り扱うテキストと関連のある文学上歴史上の潮流などについても説明します。また、議論を導くために,学問的な文芸批評の考え方も紹介します。これは英会話ではありません!英会話練習ではなくて、あくまでも文学を愛する人のためのクラブです。

必要なもの:　文学に興味を持っている人なら誰でも大歓迎です。年齢、性別、バックグランド､英語のレベルなどは一切問いません。日本語を話してもけっこうです。

とにかく文学に興味を持っていること・・・これは英語力よりも大切です。
