Three people who laid the foundation for the economic and educational
development of Japan in the Meiji era were chosen to have their portraits
on new banknotes.
What the three had in common was that they were instrumental in their respective
fields in making Japan become a modern nation.
明治時代に日本の経済界や教育界の礎を築いた三人の人物が、
新紙幣の肖像画に選ばれた。彼らに共通していたのは、日本が
近代国家になるために、それぞれの分野で貢献したことである。
２０２４年に新札 (new banknote) が発行されることになりました。
１万円札には渋沢栄一が、五千円札には津田梅子が、そして
千円札には北里柴三郎になります。
