他の誰とも違う感じ方をする君だから、僕は意表をつかれて、いつのまにか君は僕の心に入り込んでいる、ということでは？

この歌はもともとボノがエッジの娘のために書き始めて、書いているうちに対象が広がって、全ての若い女性たちに対するメッセージになった、とボノが言っているのを読みました。自分が他の人と違うことで悩んだり、ダイエットで命を落としたりする若者に対して、他人と違うことを恐れたり恥じたりするな、無理に他人に合わせて大人ぶったりするな、君は君というかげがえのない種の起源なのだから。この世にたった一人の君だからこそ、僕は君を大切に思い、もっともっと君のことが知りたい…ああ、なんか書いていて泣けてきた。
