Twenty-four hours after being arrested for allegedly holding a handgun to his fiancee’s head, Willie Andrews received his walking papers from the Patriots.

The Pats yesterday released the defensive back, who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a high-capacity firearm on Monday. The arrest marked the second for Andrews since the Super Bowl in February. Two days after the loss to the Giants, Andrews was busted in Lowell with a half-pound of marijuana and $6,800 in cash in his car. He was charged with possession of marijuana and intent to distribute.
