A rare, behind-the-scenes look at an art installation in progress "Passage in the Rain" PASSPORT TO ADVENTURES IN BENICIA THIRD SUNDAY, October 21, 12 - 5 p.m.
In conjunction with the Third Sunday PASSPORT TO ADVENTURES in BENICIA, artist Kana Tanaka will be creating a site specific glass installation at Arts Benicia Gallery.
In preparation for Arts Benicia's upcoming exhibit, LOOKING GLASS: seeing through the medium, Tanaka will heat glass "raindrops" one at a time, and allow them to slowly fall from the ceiling of the gallery. When each drop reaches the desired level, she cools the glass to freeze its position. A permanent installation of Tanaka's work can be seen at the Solano County Government Center in Fairfield.
Bring the entire family to enjoy a hands-on art project and refreshments, and continue to other venues featured in the "PASSPORT TO ADVENTURES IN BENICIA" Third Sunday event: details below.
