As I've just created this community on Mixi, I think it's time for a self-introduction topic. You can say things like your name, where you work/go to school, how long you've been studying Japanese/English, how long you've been going to Kaiwa Club, etc. If possible, Japanese should write in English and Americans should write in Japanese. ;)
My name is Mlex in MIXI. I came here 6months ago.
Being ELS student in CASE,I just finished it.
I'm planing to study in Cleveland Clinic Foundation from
March about an aritificial outlet care(If you are interested in that, please visit my MIXI diary.).
Since I'm from KANSAI,my accent sounds KANSAI dialect and fast.(^^; よろしくお願いします。
Hi. This is Mayumi.
I've been here about 2 years and 8 months. However, I started joining Kaiwa Club about 2 years ago, after I bought a car. Kaiwa Club is held on every Sunday, so it is hard to go there by using puplic transportation.
I'm a busy student who studies Nursing at Ursuline College, so I can't go Kaiwa Club every week. I'm sorry...
I can promise that everyone at Kaiwa Club is so nice and gentle, so if you want to join us, don't hesitate. I'm so glad I could meet them. :)
Hi, I'm NOJI…………………(I'm afraid that it's kind of, you know, well, so..., acutually, a little bit too long). I came to Cleveland seven month ago for medical research in Case. My home country is HOKKAIDO that is the northest island of Japan. I found it is not really Japan, might be similar to the U.S. for their scenary, newness, existence of native people and many kind of backgrounds.
There are a lot of great friends learning English and Japanese in Kaiwa Club. I'm still learning even Japanese from them; furthermore, it includes special Japanese dialect!!
If you can speak Japanese and have a little bit knowledge of English, you can be a good Japanese teacher for Americans who learn Japanese (like Risukun or マット). In addition, you can make sure that you can speak completely at least one language...
"I found that Hokkaido is not really like the rest of Japan. Looking at the scenery and history of the area, I feel it may be more similar to the U.S.'s midwest region"
hi, im 24 Japanese/f typing from Japan. im working at army base, i am so interesting to learn English. please stop by my Blog and collect my English or ask me about Japan. thanks:)
Hi, I am Toyomi, one of the oldest members of the Kaiwa Club.
(Not as old as A☆AKA-san! though)
I graduated from Cleveland State University in 2001. And now I am working in Japan as a researcher. When I was a student, I didn't really participated in Kaiwa-club, but I occasionally joined parties at ☆pence's place. I mostly participated between 2001 and 2002, so I know a few of current Kaiwa club attendants. But I’ve herd what’s going on among those members, so I feel like I am not really away from Arabica even though I am in Japan.
It is NOT Japanese Anime group or computer game group, though some of them are really into them, this group is very accepting and open to people with different background. That’s what I like about this group. I really miss playing Napoleon, playing DDR, and endless talk after the Kaiwa-club with those members I met through this group. Are you guys still taking hours to decide where to eat dinner after the meeting?
