How do you feel about effective communication?

I read certain book written about english communication.
In that book, there were the following descriptions.

There was one businessman. He asked translator to
translate the sentence of business e-mail(Japanese to
English).And he sent an e-mail to foreign businessman.
Then he could get good reply from him.
He thought that there is big difference between the
sentence of professional translator and that of ordinary
businessman.

How do you think about the difference?
