House Masters is a brand new compilation series from Defected Records. With four releases a year scheduled, we bring you the first in the series dedicated to presenting unmixed tracks and remixes from the worlds most successful house producers.
This series is aimed squarely at the DJ – with some tracks being made available digitally for the first time and all are presented at full length.
We start off with one of the best known producers in the world – Louie Vega.
“Little Louie” Vega is one half of the legendary Masters at Work with fellow partner Kenny Dope. His achievements are nothing short of immense. Louie has a rich musical tapestry that spans the cross-cultural boundaries of house, Latin, classic disco, afro-beat, jazz, hip-hop and soul.
He includes many influences in his productions that range from Afrika Bambaataa, Larry Levan, David Mancuso, Tony Humphries and Jellybean Benitez, whom all are the classic sound of the New York Underground.
Louie Vega to date has remixed over 100 records to date, his career has spanned over two decades and has created club anthems that have totally defined a scene and has awarded him cult status.
This CD makes 20 of his productions and remixes available unmixed across two CD’s. This is the ultimate collection of Louie Vega House anthems including the outstanding classic Julie McKnight – ‘Diamond Life’, Masters at Work – ‘To Be In Love’, Barbara Tucker –‘ Beautiful People’ and River Oceans – ‘Love and Happiness’.
This is an essential album for DJ’s and lovers of Soulful, Latin and Disco inspired house music.
