Jon was told via one of the technicians in our rehearsal rooms that Alex and Beau were rehearsing without us the day before yesterday, with a new drummer.
After very diplomatically ignoring our calls and texts for the last couple of weeks we have taken this to mean an official split. We don't think that they should carry on using the name "The Upper Room", as half the band has now left.
It's a shame after 4 years on the road together it has ended like this, but thanks for all your support over the last few years. The last tracks Jon and I played on are Divorce, Bad News, two new tracks.

Message from Alex
Hi everyone, as there is quite a lot of misinformation going around at the moment, I am writing this message to clear up a few things. People have been guessing (and guessing wrongly) what the next move will be for the band and its members. I've had a great time over the last couple of years in The Upper Room and I will always remain good friends with Jim, Jon and Beau. However, after recently splitting from our record label I feel it is time for me to move on. I am very grateful to all of you for being so supportive over the last few years. It's too early to say exactly what we're all going to be doing next. But speaking for myself I am certainly planning to be writing and recording songs in the future - and hopefully the others are too.
If you would like me to keep you up to date with what I'm doing, my e-mail address is: alex.miller.work@btinternet.com

Hey guys how you all doing?
Came on to check Myspace after about 3 months away from it in a night of insomnia and reminiscence about what once was The Upper Room. I still see Alex now and again to catch up over bottles of wine; I saw Jon a few weeks back although it seems like everyone's settling into their own lives now. I spend a lot of time down at Royal Holloway university where my other half goes and every so often I'll bump into an old fan of ours who's got our album. That's always a good feeling. It's great to know we're still getting messages from people even now, so thanks loads. By the way did anyone hear us on Primieval? That was news to us! Strange thing was they played the demo.....
Would I ever do it again?? I really don't know. For the minute I'm just concentrating on catching up with the real world..
...If anyone wants to add me on facebook there's umpteen pictures of me making an arse of myself in various situations and some old Roomer people who I'm still in touch with. Hope to see you soon.
