Hi, I just joined mixi and "Mixed Kids" tonight. It's great to see some international people out there!!! I was introduced to Mixi by a Japanese friend and thought it was strictly for Japanese people. It's great to know that that is not the case.
Anyway, let me introduce myself. I am a friend of ♪nanana♪さん. She braids my husband's hair (African American) and will braid our kids when we have some (soon....I hope). She just gave birth 3 months ago but she still comes over and braids his hair!!!! She is amazing!!!! She brings the baby and I watch it while she does her thing! That is always the highlight of my month! Her baby is absolutely gorgeous (because her daddy is Jamaican) and I LOOOOOOOOVE kids!!!!!! I want one so bad......
My husband and I have been in Japan for 11 years now and got married 3 years ago. I have been doing yoga as a hobby for a while and have been teaching kids English for the last 11 years and last year I decided to combine them into a business. That is how my kids yoga studio got started. I went back to the States to study and got certified to teach kids and baby yoga. I have two studios...one in Kichijoji and one in Minami Aoyama. About half of my students are Japanese and the others are mixed. The classes are all in English and are lots of fun!!!
We have Mommy & Baby classes for babies 1 month and up, Mommy & Toddler classes for walkers-3 yr olds, and kids classes for kids age 4-12.
Here is my website..... littlenamaste.com Check it out and let me what you think....
Anyway, it's great to know that there is a community like this out there. Especially since my husband and I are planning on getting pregnant soon and feel really uncomfortable about raising a child here without any biracial friends.
