“Mosaic: A resonant Butoh Dance Piece”,
When: Sunday, September 10, 17 and 24, at 3pm
Where: The Tree Mosaic Circle, East River Park, NY( directions below)
Vangeline Theater is proud to participate in the second annual Art In
Odd Places 2006.
“MOSAIC” is a series of site- specific Public Butoh offerings by
Vangeline Theater, taking place at the Mosaic Tree circle, at the East
River Park, NY. Using Japanese Butoh as a universal language, Mosaic
will feature young Butoh dancers from different countries coming
together to offer something deeply personal through their dance.
Through our dance we hope to contribute to the healing of our
community. Choreographed by Vangeline for the Vangeline Theater.
Featuring solos by Jessi Gayle (sept 10th), Yukari Koyama (sept 17th)
and Pamela Herron (Sept 24th), and group offering with Kat Mac Millan,
Florence Poulain, Scott Pisticelli, Kenric Mc Dowell, Banaue Miclat,
Minako Nakashima.
Performance is Free.

Directions:
The Tree Circle at the East River Park is located past
the FDR along the water, just north of the
Williamsburg bridge, next to the tennis courts. It is
facing the Domino Sugar Factory on the East River.
Three possible entrances to the East River Park:
1, Delancey street - (closest entrance)
Overpass the FDR
Subways: F: Delancey /J/M/Z: Essex (same stop)
10mn. Walk along the Williamsburg Bridge on the south
side. Cross with the overpass. Bear left. The Tree
Circle is right past the tennis courts.
2. Houston & Broadway.
Subways: B/D/F/V/6
20mn. Walk east to the river. Cross the intersection
and walk right down the ramp. Circle of Trees is on
the left before the tennis courts.
3. East. 6 Street.
Subway: R: 8 St, 6: Astor Place.
30mn. Walk east toward the East River, past avenue D
till the FDR.
Cross overpass on the south side of the street and
bear right, walking south. The Tree circle is on the
left before the tennis courts.
Art In Odd Places is an independent artists’ project exploring public
space under the direction of artist/curator, Ed Woodham.
