Hello, This is Toshihiro Takagi.
I'm in Nigata prefecture to get a car license now.
so these days I didn't attend to some ALSA meeting, very sorry for that.

Today I want to talk about the difference of car license ,Japan and other country.
First, I'll show you the case of Japan.
Now in Japan, we need to study for both paper and practical test. After pass the first paper and driving tests, we can get temporary license . The day before yesterday I got it. Before get this, I did 10 hours study for paper and 12 hours driving practice in the driving school.

And then, we have to practice driving on the public streets for about 20 hours. Of course paper classes are also held for 16 hours including rescue lessons.

After all, in Japan it takes 2 weeks and more. I think 2 weeks is so long because university students and office workers and so on don't have enough time to get this.

Second, I'll show you the case of USA.
The law of car license USA differ from state to state. For example, in CA everyone who pass the paper exam can get a temporary car license regardless how many hours he/she studied.

With temporary car license and CA residence driver we can drive on any public without normal license . To practice driving, we should prepare car for ourselves. It may be hard but very reasonable. So we need less money than in Japan.

In terms of study period, in Japan at least 2 weeks, in CA at least 3 days.
In terms of exam fee, in Japan we need about $2500, in CA $400.

Considering these things, CA people can get car license more easily than Japanese.
Some Japanese envy them, but how about the number of traffic accidents. To keep traffic safety, in other words not to happen car accidents, drivers should be taught traffic rules until some level.

So, I think to get car license in Japan is so expensive but it makes this country safety.
Education is so important.

Thank you.

Next charge will be Saori. Good bye^^b

Hi!!Mr.Takagi↑nice to meet you.Im Keisuke.

ummm…I dont know takin driver licence in America isso easy.but,as you said, there are a lot of traffic accidents in America.that is not good.I think that every drivers shouldhave a certain skills to drive a car in public.

…I want to take driver licence too…

I waaaanna get a car license!!!

The number of traffic accidents can be related to how long it takes to get a car license, but that is not only factor, I think.

Anyway, it is absolutely true that education (also practice) is important.

Thanks for your diary!!
Hi,takagi.

Sorry for not writing comments these daysあせあせ(飛び散る汗)あせあせ(飛び散る汗)

Contrary to u all, I don't want to get driver licence!
Rather,I wont be able to pass the test(´A`)

Because Im not good at controling something・・・・・even bycyclesたらーっ(汗)

But if I were a CA resident, I can get licence! Thats horrableげっそりげっそり
hi Takagi, im Tak in rikkyo uni, Mucho Gusto!!!

I was really surprised when my host sis. in Brisbane said that they can drive on public street even if they don't have driver's licence if someone who have it control and manage her.

now, Ive just came back from pickin my drunkn dad at Sayamagaoka station, by car...Its no good that Im used like Taxi driver...lol
Sorry for late...

yeah,I also think Japanese system is so expensive and takes long time to get car licence. But you cannot take too long hours for getting car licence, because the fact that you drive car in the public street means you always have the danger of passing and hitting human or things. So, the Japanese system now is good one!!!

Thanks for writing^^
