So the shambles machine is moving again, a call on the bat phone means only one thing, they’re calling it on.
Never quite sure what to expect when it comes to shamble frolics but it’s always interesting.
A welcome retreat from a day’s headaches in front of the computer trying to work out where I’m going to get some cds to take on tour??(see previous blog about pinnacle!)
I can now put it off until tomorrow.
I’m told that the gig is to be in the taxi place on commercial road as usual and to come quick as Peter’s ‘djing’ and running out of records.
I swing by the studio to pick up some minimal drummage and a Whitnall then off we go. I get there find Peter playing records, some a little scratched but entertaining the crowd none the less. A little time passes but we manage to start the evenings performance off with the arrival of Drew.
Unfortunately we didn’t quite find our momentum and the show is over a little too quick for my liking, it had some fun elements, Kyle (view), Ocean etc but I wanted to play for longer.
Came home with ringing ears and aching legs, it’s been a while, reminds me how un-match fit I am, all this roses has detracted my focus a little.
An interesting crowd, differing ages and varying amounts of alcohol consumption!
Was warming to hear some encouragement from you lot regarding my recent moanings on here… so thanks.
I never quite know what to do when you’re shouting roses song titles, any way tonight it’s pure shambles..
Weds came and went with a day of emails and more writing for the next roses album, I want to take 20 tracks in to the studio in Feb, still no news on my stock..
Today (Thurs)
Good news in, it looks like I will be able to get in to get all my stock from Pinnacle so all is well at the moment.
Had the recent album sales in, it’s steadily selling about 10 a week so not too bad, could be better.
I made the mistake of doing the math of my expenditure - wow, but I try to view it as a business start up..
Some excellent news in, the 360 music people have sorted it for me to play the itunes store in LA when I’m over there later this month..
It’s going to be great.
Evening comes and I’m waiting for the bat phone to call,I know it’ s on but not sure of time so sit tight.
I get the green light and head out, same routine meet mik get the drums and head out…
Much better this time, we played a good set and it was far more together so I’m happy, although I have somehow managed to damage my leg muscle, it feels a little numb.
It’s not used to this drumming, will see what tomorrow brings.
