Lotus: Photos by Mai Watanabe

Mai Watanabe’s second photo exhibition focuses on dresses created around the image of a lotus flower. This exhibit is a preview of her photos in an upcoming fashion show entitled “Clarità,” in which she will collaborate with other designers and musicians (http://www.imy.co.jp/kaigi/). Her photos provide an intimate look of the catwalk creations. Please come to the gallery opening on June 7 to party with the artist and friends over glasses of organic wine. Details below:

そのイベントに先駆けて、6月7日から一週間うちで写真展をやることになりました。今回はファッションショー当日に使われる『蓮』をイメージしてデザインされたドレスの写真展です。
柔らかく包み込む『蓮』を感じられるドレスをMaiちゃんの写真を通して見てみませんか？
７日の作品展初日はMaiちゃんを囲んでのOpening Partyをします。

6月の第二週目はMusic Live Weekendと題して二日連続でライブをやります！

6/13　Open Jam Session Vol.1

This weekend, we’re focusing on music, and on the musicians that gather here to make the Café such a lively place. This Jam Session is open to anyone who plays an instrument, or just loves listening and having a good time. Everyone is welcome.

この日は誰でも参加OKのジャム･セッションの日です。楽器をやっている方や、ライブ好きな方だけじゃなく、ワイワイしている雰囲気が好きっていう方も是非是非参加しちゃってください★Everyone is welcome★ミュージシャンの方は楽器持参でお願いします♪

Espretts Live『Sangria & Live Music』

This is the duo’s third gig at Café Cornelius. To celebrate the summer music weekend, we’re serving sangria! The band’s unique arrangements of classic rock, soul and R&B songs paired with refreshing sangria can’t be missed! Please come to hang out and to connect with the performers. (No charge)

俺ら三人ともファンになってるアコースティックデュオ『Espretts』のお二人にまたカフェでライブをやってもらうことになりました！キャロル・キングからアヴリル・ラヴィーンまで時代もジャンルも様々な曲にオリジナリティー溢れるアレンジを加えたEsprettsのSoundはカフェにぴったり★最近、初のオリジナル曲も登場したという噂！もしまだ一度も彼らのライブを見たことがないなら、是非この機会に見に来てください!!この日は特別に手作りサングリアを出しますんで、ライブを聴きながらでもどうぞ♪

Summer Solstice BBQ

What better way to spend the first official day of summer and father’s day than gorging on lots of food in the sun? Nothing? That’s what we figured, and that’s why we are having a BBQ on June 21. Come eat burgers, salads, grilled veggies along with some beer and other drinks. For all those that play instruments, please feel free to bring them along and join the jam.

Place: Akegaoka Koen (a 5 minute walk from the Café)
Time: 11:30 meet at the Café/ 12:00 start
Cost: 2500 yen for men/2000 yen for women
*Please reserve a spot so we know how much food to make!


6月21日は夏至の日。英語では「First day of the summer」その日にカフェ主催のBBQをやります★アウトドア好きの俺ら三人にとって念願のBBQなんです★この一年で一番日の長い夏至の日に、楽しくBBQをやっちゃいましょう！もう手ぶらで気軽に参加しちゃってください。多ければ多いほうが盛り上がると思うので、友達や恋人や家族も誘ってくださいね★みんなで楽しく騒ぎましょう♪

Our 5th traveler’s party! As always, anyone who loves traveling or is thinking about doing so is welcome! Come share your experiences, meet new people and listen to their stories.

今回で5回目になる「旅好きのための旅人飲み会」です！旅行や旅、放浪が好きなら誰でもWelcome★経験や情報をシェアして「Travel」というテーマで仲間を作りましょう☆まだ旅に行ったことが無いって方ももちろんWelcomeですよ♪毎回大学生から社会人まで幅広くユニークなメンツが集まるので、気楽に参加しちゃってください！みんなで盛り上がりましょう

Aurelien’s Photo Gallery

Our fine French friend will be displaying his photos, taken during his time in Japan. He catches people in normally mundane situations such as riding the subway or waiting in line at the store. His photos bring new perspective to spaces in time, which are otherwise easy to dismiss in an urban setting. Deep and at times comical, come view Aurelien’s work over a glass of our French organic wine.
