中学の頃はチャート小僧だったんです。
毎週、湯川れい子さんDJの全米トップ40を聞いて
ビルボードのチャートをノートにつけて。
「アイ・キャント・ゴー・フォー・ザット」
は返り咲きアリで計3週1位だった記憶が。

この曲は詩が揮ってる。

この男、その女の為なら「なんでもする」と豪語しておいて

よっぽどな事を女に要求されたのだろうが、それが「何」なのか言及されない。ストリーキング？コンビニ強盗？隅田川で寒中水泳？イマジネーションは広がる。

個人的にご勘弁頂きたいのは車で遠出の際フリオ・イグレシアスを大音量で聞かせ続けられる事（実話）。その日は瀕死の状態で目的地へ辿りついた。あれは人生の中でも特筆すべき最悪の4時間であった。
