Gmail by Google ユーザーコミュのアラユルUTF-8

送信時はUTF-8になるようですが、UTF-8ではマズーなメーラってまだ結構残ってるんでしたっけ？GmailからMLに投稿しようと思っても、このへんがネックになって躊躇しています。

ぼくも送ったら、文字化けして読めないというのがきました。

なにか対処方法はありますか？

yahooメールはがっつりUTF-8未対応ですね。

さっそく試してみましたが、アドレスが長ったらしいですね。
gmailみたいにすっきりしているといいのですが。

UTF-8未対応=文字化けなんですか？
Yahoo!メールのほかに、
goo、Hotmailが駄目でした。
AOL（Webメール）はOKです。

というか、日本語のメールは iso-2022-jp で送る規格があったはずなので、「UTF-8未対応」かどうかというのはこの場合は受け手の責任ではないはずなのですが……

というころで、言語指定＋ iso-2022-jp 対応してくれ、と gmail の Contact に要望を出してみようと思ったら、dead link のようでした。gmail はテスト期間中のはずですが、こうした bug report や request などはどこへ出せばいいのでしょうか。

失礼ですが、iso-2022-jpなど言語特有な規格は早く止めて欲しいです。もう、はっきり言って古いです。言葉の乱用が出来ません。

Google に「日本語をiso-2022-jp変えてくれ！」を言うのは、今すぐに止めて欲しいです。

日本語と中国語、日本語とスウェーデン語がふたつとも入ったメールを書きたい時はどうする？

手紙だと問題ないけど、iso-2022-jpのようなモノリンガル規格じゃ無理。だから、後ろばかり向くのを止めましょうよ！

Backwards compabilityのために、だめとわかっているところに送る時のためのiso-2022-jp指定のオプションは賛成ですが。

Although the Gmail interface is written in US English, Gmail users can send and receive messages in a variety of languages.
Right now it is only possible to search in English. All information in the 'Settings' section of your account, including your name, labels and filters must also be in English.

If you are having trouble sending or receiving messages in a language other than English, there may be two problems:

Some users have experienced problems with the following languages and encodings:
Simplified Chinese (HZ & GBK)
Cyrillic/Ukrainian (KOI8-U)
Vietnamese (TCVN)
Hebrew (ISO-8859-8-I)
Nordic (ISO-8859-10)
Armenia (ARMSCII-8)
Thai (windows-874)

Messages sent to or from other email providers may be encoded in a format that causes the text of a message to be unreadable. Gmail uses UTF-8 encoding for all messages. If you are unable to send or receive messages in languages other than English, we suggest adjusting your browser's encoding settings.
Here's how to adjust the settings in Internet Explorer:
Click the 'View' menu at the top of your browser
Select 'Encoding’
Select 'Unicode (UTF-8)' from the list of options
If this doesn't improve the problem, the improper display of characters might be the result of mail clients converting encodings during the transmission of messages.
In the meantime, you can view messages properly by opening the original sent message. To view the original message, please follow these steps:

Log in to your Gmail account
Open the conversation containing the message you would like to view
Click 'More options' at the top of the message
Click 'Show original'
The Gmail team is working on a fix for each of these problems. In the meantime, if these suggestions don’t work and your language isn’t on the list, please let us know by clicking 'contact us' below.

an9nさんの御意見に128%同意します。UTF8メールを受け取れない携帯メールやフリーメールの方が対応すべきと考えます。わたしもau使いなんですが、どこに要望を出せばいいんでしょう？

まあ、正論なんですけど、もっと多くのメールシステムがUTF-8に対応してからでないと難しいでしょうね。
現状では、Gmailの方でデフォルトの文字エンコーディングを設定できるようにしてくれるのがベストだと思います。

題名の「アラユルUTF-8」では、何も理解できなかった私は、
新しいトピックを立ち上げてしまいました・・・
まあ、難しいことはよくわかりませんが、
日本語対応してほしいです。

gmail側が、hotmail のように
「ユーザー側が言語を選択できる」
ようにするのが良いのではないかと思うのですが、
いかがなものでしょうか？
