-------------------------------------------------------
D. Paul Pollard has won the bass trombone position with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, replacing Hal Janks who retired in 2006. Paul will join the MET in August of 2007 and share the bass trombone chair with Steve Norrell. Ironically, they are both from the same West Georgia area. Paul grew up in Newnan, while Steve began his trombone studies 20 miles to the north in Carrollton.
