Job Title: Web/Marketing Specialist for Business Group Employee Name: OPEN REQ Department: HAL-UB (B2B) Location: San Diego Reports To: Sr. Manager, Marketing FLSA Status: Exempt Prepared By: Human Resources Prepared Date: 10/11/07
This new hybrid role that will report to the Senior marketing manager and will be responsible for designing and delivering the internal/external communications and marketing materials to sales, engineering, customers and program partners.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the design and development of internal and external communications for the B2B group via web base to deliver; quarterly newsletter, promotions, collateral, whitepapers, data sheets, banners and ads. Assist with the planning and execution of trade shows/events Develop and assist sales with Promotions and fulfillments
Design Support Design and prepare marketing and other promotional items for K-12, worship, corporate and other B2B sales channel. Work with printers regarding press guidelines and timelines for timely delivery of materials to meet deadlines.
Update product content for web portals: Responsible for updating and maintaining product information via web portals that requires working closely with the product manager, engineers and HAL-IT. Maintain ongoing plan of current and future site development needs
Implement web marketing campaigns
Develop and manage customer email address list, and manage email campaigns
Work closely with Marketing and IT departments
Assist in maintaining the marketing collateral; distributing,
Manage incoming and outgoing literature fulfillments (include customs clearance and communicating with counter partners in Japan)
Customer Support Respond to incoming calls on the internal 800#
Qualify, redirect, compile and distribute sales leads to field
Assist with technical support calls (level 1)
Analysis/Research Develop strong understanding of consumer and customer wants and needs as they pertain to website
Regularly benchmark competitive sites and marketing material
Presentations Design, build & deliver PowerPoint presentations for monthly customer training, shows and or customer meetings
Trade show/Event Support Plan, coordinate logistical arrangements and manage on-site set up/tear down (trade shows and seminars)
Assist with registration, rooming, meeting schedules and on site F&B request
Promotions Manage and monitors all promotional activities to support tradeshows and sales activities by selecting products, vendors and placing orders.
Manage Hitachi logo item inventory with ordering, billing, fulfillment and tracking
Plan and manage quarterly promotional audits
Assist with promotional fulfillments by working with Sales and Operations
Miscellaneous: Administrative - Assist with processing and tracking invoices and tracking and forecasting budget as requested by Sr marketing manager
Sales Support -Maintain ongoing professional communication style to maintain day to day contact with all Hitachi Sales and Marketing personnel on a daily basis
Inquiry Handling ? Manage all literature/promotional request
Product Loan Program? Manage all inventory product evaluation requests that may be allocated for public relations, trade show, sales, engineering, 3rd party and internal use
Required Skills and Experience: min. 2 years of graphic design and/or web experience
Highly skilled and experienced in Microsoft Office programs, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Highly proficient user of current and legacy graphic design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient on the Mac (with 2 years of experience), Quark Xpress, Photoshop, MS PowerPoint, Macromedia, Adobe Acrobat and MS Publisher
The ability to multi-task and handle multiple concurrent deadlines

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) and/or equivalent experience. Internal candidate must be employed by Hitachi for a minimum of one year; and in their current position for at least six months prior to submitting a bid application.
