I am very happy to communicate with you like this.
But these days, I am becoming very very nervous. Because the class looks very tough!! Maybe it is very difficult for me to keep up with the class especially as to the basical English skill...
But reading your Berkeley 通信, I felt that the circumstances of your life there were very interesting. So I'm looking forward to it.
Please try your best at first exam!!
(Could you tell me the answers of exam for me! It's kidding.)
It was snowing yesterday in Tokyo and the snow was 3 cm deep.
It is also cold today.
How is it in Berkeley?
Well, according to your report it seems Berkeley's class is so hard...
I need to prepare many things, but it is difficult to decide what I should prioritize.
Anyway, I enjoyed reading your repouort and look forward to it next week!!
Hey, Ryohei!
You finally come here.
Weeeeeeeelcome!!!
We've been all waiting for you.
Thanks for the Berkeley info as usual.
It really seems tough, but I'm sure you and Jiro can servive!
Ganbatte!
And Daisuke, I beleive you also can do well there with your super positive attitude.
Tell us more about your life there after the exam!
Say hello to Jiro!
In NY, there must have had a ticker tape parade on Broadway downtown to celebrate the chanpionship of NY Giants. It must have started somewhere around Battery Park and to Chamber St. Station. And it must have gone just under the window of Woolworth Building, which our English classes are held.
Why do you think is my description written in that tense? That is because ALI director worried about the messy traffic around the building, he decided to change all class rooms to 48 Cooper Square...
That's a pity that we missed the parade. According to Eleven, who is my classmate, it was a sort of miracle that Giants won the game, so it would never happen. That means we lost the parade forever!!
The attached is the ticker tapes thrown from the windows to the parade. On the way to the Woolworth Building, on the street that the parade was held, I found a lot of remainings of the tapes.
The amNew York, a free paper which is distributed on the street corners, covered the parade yesterday like this and provide photos on this at their web site.
Do you know what the ticker tape is?
According to Philip, my writing instructor, it is a tape used at NY Stock Exchange to deliver data. Because the parades are to be held at the financial district, around Wall Street, people threw away the used ticker tapes to celebrate the parade as the tapes are useless anymore since the info on them are out of date.
Any parades to celebrate something are to be held on the streets. New Yorkers have ever had many parades to celebrate the Worldchampionships of Yankees, to welcome someone such as Nelson Mandera and Pope. All these facts are engraved on the pavements.
