If I were in Osaka right now, I would probably truck on down to Kumi's restaurant for some tonkatsu and ask her about this stuff.
I had some interesting classes this Fall at UA. The students are very different of course. I even taught a student from Gaidai here at UA. Strangely, all of the Japanese girls cut their hair in November, and they all got the same style of bangs--straight across at the eyebrow. They all looked like kokeshi!
I haven't seen any Japanese dorama or read any manga or eaten any hi-chew. So my knowledge of Japanese pop culture is rapidly becoming dated. Zannen deshou.
