I would like you to visit Gunma. And I would like you to know good place of Gunma.

Kusatsu is famous for hot springs. Kusatsu is one of tourist attraction in Gunma prefecture.

So I will introduce Kusatsu.


Kusatsu hot springs are identified Hayashi Razan’s the three big items of great hot springs.

Kusatsu hot springs have old histories.

For example tradition says that Yamato Takeru, Gyougi and Minamotono Yoritomo took the hot springs.

The hot springs is “TOJIBA”. “TOJIBA” is hot springs area which we stay long time purpose of “TOJI”. What is “TOJI”? Its purpose of get back ours strength.

The hot springs quality is acidity. This acid intensity dissolves one yen coin about for a week.

The hot springs effects are skin disease, neuralgia, diabetes and so on.

There is “YUBATAKE”. It is fountainhead in the central part of the hot springs area. It is designed by Okamoto Taro. Hot water well up like a waterfall is we can’t see easily the other hot springs area. It is luxury. Tourists are entertained by illuminate “YUBATAKE” at night.

Kusatsu hot springs fountainhead is from 51 degrees to 94 degrees. But we can’t take a bath let it lie. So “YUMOMI” was thought lower temperature naturally without waters. We stir hot waters with a board thirty centimeters in width, ninety centimeters in length, lower temperature and soften hot waters. We are working this for twenty minutes from thirty minutes. This is “YUMOMI”. And we sing in this time “KUSATSU YUMOMIUTA”.
Tourist can see and experience “YUMOMI”. If you see “YUMOMI”, adult fee is 500 yen and child fee is 250 yen. On the other hand “YUMOMI” can experience only children of pupil and under. The fee is 200 yen. It is very cheap!! I would like you to see “YUMOMI” when you visit Kusatsu.
