Stephen Earnhartという元Miramax社の監督さんが、村上春樹の「ねじまき鳥クロニクル」をマルチメディア演劇化？するにあたり、日本語と英語の話せるアシスタントを急募しています。これから２年以上、年に２～３回のパートタイムです。東京でのミーティングの際の通訳や、電話でのミーティングのセットアップなどが主な仕事のようです。作品は東京とニューヨークで上演される予定です。…というわけで、演劇や映画に興味がある人の方がいいんです。

＜Director's Assistant needed for Murakami adaptation＞

Hello. I am a film and theatre director, formerly the Director of Production for Miramax Films, and I will be in Tokyo for the month of July working on my multi-media theatrical adaptation for Haruki Murakami's "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle". I'm looking for a bi-lingual part time intern or assistant to help me while I'm there. Ideally, someone who's interested in film and theatre and Murakami's work.

I will be meeting with actors and theatre companies in Tokyo, and will also be shooting film and video in Tokyo and Hokkaido. I mainly need help making phone calls to set up meetings, and a translator during meetings with theatre and film people. The job is part-time and offers a small stipend.

This project will be an on-going one over the next two years, and I will be looking for someone 2-3 times a year. The show will eventually be performed both in Tokyo and New York.
