☆FOR JAPANESE LEARNERS☆コミュの"あっけない" Usage

I am studying for the JLPT and there is a phrase that I just don't get how to use.

あっけない: My book doesn't offer any descriptions beyond disappointing. I was wondering if anyone can give me some examples and usages of it.

you can use あっけない when you feel shock and disappointment because something ended too early.

for example,
楽しみにしていたボクシングの試合が1分で終わった。あっけない試合だった。
(a boxing match that I looked forward to was over in 1 minute. the match was あっけない.)

I have never heard someone using it before.

yes, it is very common to use this expression.

たとえば・・・about World Cup 2010

あっけない (adjective) >>> あっけなく (adverb) + Verb;
イタリアとフランスが決勝戦（けっしょうせん=final)に進（すす）むと思っていたのに、第1ラウンドであっけなく負（ま）けてしまった。

ブラジルやアルゼンチンにも期待（きたい）していたのに、どちらもあっけない結果（けっか）に終わった。

Try using あっけない with other World Cup results :)

Maybe young peole use 「あっけねー。」Usually one word, casually.

There is a baseball game between SHS A and SHS B. The score becomes 4-5 and this time A's chance at the last inning. But A's one error finishes thgame. A loses. Many sutudents at the seats might whisper, 「あっけねー…。」
