■Where did you get your name? □I read a book about a tribe in Cameroon who had a party where they dug up the ancestors skulls and place them in a circle around the festivities whilst the participants drank beer and played music. I thought that was the proper way to do a disco. It's also a bad pun on School Disco.
■Where are you based? □North East London
■When were you born? □2005
■Key artists? □So far myself (Shackleton) and Applelim
■Subsidiary labels? □Hopefully I'll be bringing out my more eclectic stuff on Imminent Apocalypse. Let's see.
■Releases that put you on the map? □Shackleton - I Am Animal/ Appleblim - Mystikal Warrior
■Key forthcoming releases? □Skull 002 should be out as you read this. Shackleton - Majestic Visions/ Appleblim - Cheat I and Girder
■Policy on vinyl releases? □Yes
■Downloadable tracks on website? □Yes.
■Most desirable signing if money grew on trees? □Cutty Ranks/ John Cooper Clarke. Both rhyming over some Shackleton or Appleblim tunes.
■Most ‘interesting’ demo you’ve had sent in for consideration? □We don't get too many.
■Most regrettable song/album/artist name? □I was blessed with a good surname in my opinion, hence I use Shackleton.
■Plans for world domination? □Well, I thought I could try to consolidate our success in Outer Mongolia and the Faroe Islands where we are national heroes and leave this country for good. I know how missed we would be when we're gone. Alternatively, I could keep putting out tunes and hope to break even and sell 500 copies of a release! I don't really have any delusions of grandeur. I hope that someone listens to a release and feels a connection to it. That's enough for me.
