Hello. My name is Tomomi Mori. I’m from Shinch city of Fukushima prefecture. There is thermal power station in my home town. Thanks to it, my home town is not poor but rather rich. So, there was time when money was in abundant in my home town. For example, there are these kinds of things. When I was a junior high school student, rice ball was distributed free of charge after school. The town seemed to have been spending one million yen or more a year on rice ball. They say that the purpose was to assist the club activities without spending personal pocket money. Other than this, short-term home stay was supported, too. In this , cost is actually a system to being able 200,000 pay of the town of hanging, and for 300,000 to experience the home stay in Australia in substance 100,000. I joined the two week home stay in Australia in the system as a first grader of high school. I went to NSW state in Australia with 19 high and junior high school students from the whole country. First of all, it is allotted at random by one or two person a home. I stayed in a family's house with four girls from Niigata who were second graders of high school.
There was a boy of same age at the first match with the host family. He was driving the car. In Australia ’They’ can drive a car at the age of 16 and I was surprised first. My host family made Japan favor. So, there were chopsticks in their house and they ate rice every day. Because I did not think that they eat rice in Australia, I was surprised very much. Moreover, I seem to have accepted a Japanese students many times in the past. In the evidence, the footprint of many people was left in the diary of my room at the spot. The activity at the spot was a school visit mainly. We taught penmanship and origami, kendo then. We were taught the painting of the aborigine and were given local cakes for the return. In the contact, I learned Australian warmth and gentleness. Also, I learned the difference of the way of thinking with Japan or the difference of the funny point.
My interest was suitable now towards the global community if I thought since there was this experience. It is right the crossroads of the life. I thank the parents who let Australia go heartily.
I hope study abroad for three months in U.S.A. at second grade next time. I got the above-mentioned gain last time and want to return, if I could.
