【About Ashtanga Yoga アシュタンガヨガとは】 Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient system of yoga that was taught by Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta. This text was imparted to Sri T. Krishnamacharya in the early 1900's by his Guru Rama Mohan Brahmachari, and was later passed down to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois(1915-2009), the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. Ashtanga Yoga is a daily method of yoga involving synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures. This process produces intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. Ashtanga Yoga is traditionally taught in the "Mysore style"; the method of Ashtanga Yoga taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. In a Mysore class, new students are instructed individually and taught a series of asanas (poses). New poses are introduced by the teacher and added to sequence once the student memorizes and becomes proficient in the previous asana. The same series of asanas are practiced each day. During a class of Ashtanga Yoga, accoring to the Mysore method, each student is followed individually in a group setting.
