SF State has created the Center for U.S.-China Policy Studies (CUSCPS), an academic think tank that will promote and coordinate joint research, training, scholarship, outreach and collaboration with China on a diverse range of topics.
The Center for U.S.-China Policy Studies (CUSCPS) at San Francisco State University (http://cuscps.sfsu.edu) is interested in recruiting 3-5 non-paid interns to assist with the start-up and ongoing operations of the Center. Interns will perform administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and gathering information on potential donors. They also may have exciting opportunities such as a helping with the Opening Ceremonies of the Center, the coordination of major international research conferences, and aiding the officers of the Center as well as planned post-doctoral fellows in their research.
Interns will gain opportunities to learn more about China and U.S.-China relations, to see the workings of an academic Center, to meet with leading Sinologists and policymakers and businesspeople dealing with China, to improve their skills, and to bolster their professional experience.
Requirements for applicants include:
• A demonstrable interest in China, including some coursework.
• Very good writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Upper-division standing
• A strong academic record consisting of a B+ or better GPA
Familiarity with a web programming language and graphic design skills are a plus.
Letters of interest and resumes should be sent to Professor Jean-Marc F. Blanchard, Associate Director of the Center, at jmfblanc@sfsu.edu.
Assistance with resumes is always provided at the College of BSS Student Resource Center, HSS 379. See Nicky Trasviña for assistance.
This is a very exciting opportunity for students to be engaged in a new International
community as an intern, on campus, working closely with International Relations faculty
Arrangements can be made for students to earn units during internship.
